Mumbai :
In a shocking turn of events in Maharashtra, NCP’s Ajit Pawar took oath as a Deputy Chief Minister at Raj Bhavan today. Eight other NCP leaders, including Sharad Pawar’s close confidant Dilip Walse-Patil also took oath in the newly formed Shinde-Fadnavis-Pawar Government.
Meanwhile, a top NCP leader from Mr. Sharad Pawar’s “camp” told That “Sharad Pawar is not supporting Ajit Pawar.”
The swearing-in of Ajit Pawar and several of his colleagues has meant Maharashtra has seen four oath-taking ceremonies in as many years at its stately Raj Bhavan.
Elections to the 288-member State Assembly are due next year.
The political development comes a year after a revolt led by Shinde against the Shiv Sena (then undivided) led to the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.
